280 - Wildfires ContinuedSiguen los Incendios Descontrolados

We've had so many wildfires recently that the air quality has suffered. Besides going out to do some errands around lunch time I stayed indoors.

Hemos tenido muchos incendios descontrolados que parece que todo el mundo fuma. A veces la toz me pegó fuerte a causa del humo. La mayoría del tiempo me quede adentro de la casa.







As you can tell, above, you can hardly see anything further than a couple of miles on any side of town. While I was at home I got a chance to watch Pangea Day on the Sundance Channel. It was a film celebration with messages dealing with social conscience.

Como ve, no se podía ver mucho, a lo más unas dos millas. En casa vi un programa llamado Día de Pangea.

During the Pangea Day show, one of the most beautiful songs ever, was played with children from all over the world singing John Lennon's Imagine.

Durante el programa; Día del Pangea, tocaron una de las mas lindas canciones de todo tiempo con chicos de todas partes del mundo cantando la canción de John Lennon Imagine.

281 - July 6, 2008Seis de Julio

The house seems almost empty now. Alice and Brendon began their trip back home a bit after 8 and DJ left a little after that.

David's girlfriend Joy came by last night and stayed to go to Folsom lake with us. About an hour ago David, Joy, and Marcus left so now only Mariana and Brendon are here. It was great to have family and friends over during my vacation from work.

La casa parece estar vacia. Alice y Brendon empezaron su viaje para regresar a Los Angeles un poco pasando las 8 de la mañana. DJ también se fué rumbo a Los Angels un poco después.

La novia de David, Joy, vino a visitar anoche y como ven abajo se quedó para nuestra visita al lago Folsom. David, Joy, y Marcus regresaban a su casa así que nada más Brendon y Mariana estan en casa. Tuvimos buen tiempo ésta semana en mis vacaciones que a deveras no fuimos lejos de casa este año.

282 - Old Sacramento Sacramento Antiguo

The kids and I went over to old Sac to look for a tattoo artist to do a "family crest" for us. River City and Capitol City tattoo parlors were our stops. Eight seemed to be too many for either place to take today. We need to make appointments to get us all together but I think we'll end up paying somobody to design our crest and then we'll get the tattos done. Anyway, we got like an estimate and it will not be cheap. So, we will probably go to Chico or Venice and have it done down there. Below are two pictures not taken by me but I had to post them since they're so freakin' awesome. From left to right Alice, Mariana, DJ, (the twins) Gabriel and Brendon, David, and Marcus.



Mis hijos y yo fuimos al antiguo sacramento para investigar que necesitamos para un tatuaje no se como se dice "family crest" en español pero buscamos algo asi. Lo tomaremos en Venice o Chico, California. Bueno va a costar un poco de dinero para imprentar 8 tatuajes. Bueno, aqui estan mis hijos y dos sobrinos. Abajo todos, incluyendo su servidor, como vaqueros americanos. De izquierda a derecha Alice, Mariana, DJ, (los gemelos) Gabriel y Brendon, David, y Marcus.

This is a placeholder for today. The family is going to a baseball game tonight and we may not be back b4 midnight so I just wanted to put a placeholder in place for today's pictures.

Ok here are the pictures. Before I post them here's a couple of notes. Alice and Mariana came up from Los Angeles yesterday after having returned from Michigan where Alice will be going to school in the fall (Michigan State). Gabriel and DJ (Dean's his real name but we've never really called him that) came up today but had to leave Los Angeles later than expected and could not make the game.

Aquí estan las fotos del juego de béisbol de esta noche. Una o dos notas antes de empezar; Mariana (mi hija) y Alice (mi sobrina) vinieron de Los Angeles ayer después de regrasar de Michigan dónde Alice empezará sus estudios en Michigan State. Gabriel y DJ (Dean es su nombre real pero nadie le llama asi) también vinieros de Los Angeles pero vinieron esta noche pero un poco tarde para ver el juego.

My shoes and my beer. Beer was $2 a cup so it was the best bargain of the night. We could buy 2 at a time so Mariana and I made the most of it.
Mis zapatos y mi cerveza. La cerveza sólo costaba $2 dólares la copa y fué el mejor precio de la noche. Podiamos comprar dos copas cada vez y entonces Mariana y yo tomamos lo que podiamos.










It was a fun night.

The longest raven (I think it's a raven) I've ever seen. I walked around another haven for the birds and the bees, flowers, and trees.
