314 Faux Trees

So, this is another shot just around the corner from work. On my way back from lunch with Sherryl, Nilesh, Katie, and Jay we drove by this tree that I've been meaning to take a picture of. I made a mental note to make sure I took a picture after work. The "tree" is actually a Distributed Antenna System. I've seen a few of these but besides this one I've forgotten where I've seen the others. It's kind of like work. Before I worked where I do now I used to drive under power lines, passed generation sites, and saw solar and wind structures but never really thought about their role on the California power grid. Now I notice them everywhere.

La fóto de hoy parece ser un árbol pero en realidad es una antena, yo creo de teléfonos.

They may be fake but I think their a neat idea. I see them here all the time too. I've seen pines and palms. I like the palm towers best. Theres one near my house (a palm tower) and there are a group of palms planted around it. It could actually pass as real from a hundred yards away out of the corner of your eye. lol. Personally I think it's better than seeing a regular metal tower from the street. The metal looking ones look ugly, just as ugly as a power pole. The only thing I think looks good that isn't natural looking is wind turbines.

The palm tree concept sounds great down in you area it fits perpectly. Wind turbines are amazing as well. Recently I saw a truck carring parts of it. Those generators are huge.
