Year Two
Segundo Año

Found a new view point in Rancho Cordova to take nature pictures from. This is overlooking Nimbus Dam towards the Sierras where you can see some snow on the mountaintops.

Encontré un nuevo punto de vista en Rancho Cordova para tomar fotos de la naturaleza. Aquí podemos ver la Represa Nimbus hacia las Sierra Madre dónde todavía se puede ver nieve en las montañas.
I'm starting a second year of posting a daily picture. This is the first post for the second year and this is day two I just didn't know if I should start a second blog for this so I'm running the same stuff on this and the alvarezphoto.blogspot.com site for a few days until I figure this thing aout.

One year

A year ago I started posting a picture a day and I posted my last picture (or so I thought) yesterday (actually a little past midnight). I found that this daily task became a habit. As habits go I'm finding it hard to break the habit since it's given me the chance to capture some good moments and it's allowed me to find time to go out and try to capture a moment in time. Walking around town has given me the opportunity not only to exercise but meet interesting people along the way. It has also given me the opportunity to get to know my town of Folsom as well as the surrounding areas specially Sacramento. I thought I would enjoy taking a break from taking daily pictures but my hobby habit has become an addiction. I guess one of these days I'll just say no and go cold turkey for a while.

In the mean time I'll keep posting pictures and post some of my thoughts as well. Below you can see a poem dedicated to a person I've grown to know for the past year. Sometimes I have to put things down on paper that reveal thoughts that I have but don't come out of my head when they should. Her name is Sunrise (yes her mom and dad are from that era). She says she doesn't like attention but she gets plenty.

Sunrise

I remember when we first met
A day I’ll never forget
I can still feel that ember you ignited
Healing my heart and feeling delighted

I remember your first touch
Leaving me wanting you oh so very much
It rekindled a long lost feeling
My broken heart began its healing

I remember staying up all night
Talking until early daylight
Talking about love, life, and dreams
And laughing all the time or so it seems

I think about you night and day
Your absence puts me in disarray
Your presence gives joy to my heart
This began right from the start

I adore your red hair
Here there and everywhere
Your mouth gives such great pleasure
A lovely woman a real treasure

Your eyes touch my soul
Your presence I extol
Your kisses sweet as wine
Love your body lying next to mine

Your body is a work of art
I’ve loved that from the start
Like a bountiful pastry cart
I’ll take it as a whole or a la carte

I adore your body and love your mind
I enjoy your body next to mine
I admire your mesmerizing gaze
And love your carefree ways

It’s been a year since we met
You’re like my own Juliette
To my lovely little gem
I send you this love poem

I adore you
